Arrow Tribe

Clean water for all from a new well in Arrow village I funded by Touch 1000 Lives. Praveen Chakravarthy, Director of Touch 1000 Lives India, operates as Grace Drillers India drilling borewells to provide safe drinking water in the tribal villages of Andhra Pradesh: 50 wells in 2011. This is the story of just one; Arrow village I - a place so remote, no one else would help...

Timeline: (photos and links to follow)

9th August 2011 Great news! Our partners Drop4drop are sending money for wells in 5 more tribal villages in India; that's IN ADDITION TO the one being drilled right now by Touch 1000 Lives India in Arrow village I.

2nd September 2011 Yay! Praveen just posted pictures of the new Arrow village borewell: this is one of my favourites...

8th September 2011 As if today hasn't had enough good things in it: Blown away by the pictures being posted over the last few hours by Praveen Chakravarthy operating as Grace Drillers India of the 5 wells funded by partners Drop4drop. The money was sent on 15th August - how quickly that has been turned into safe drinking water for 5 villages. It doesn't come any better than this.

30th September 2011 Photos of the opening ceremony for the Arrow village borewell posted by Praveen. The head of the village has the bow and arrow. The money for this well was raised for Touch 1000 Lives by Ben Inett - an outstanding solo effort with a long distance (40 mile) sponsored bike ride - and the pupils of the River School Worcester. Big thanks to all!

18th January 2012 Safe water to drink... a precious gift. We'll be back in Arrow village I in a couple of months' time with our next infrastructure project. To be continued...
